And yes, I have to admit I am extremely old-fashioned in news consumption. I prefer to read, rather than hear or watch news. Aside from the problems of listening to news at work, the advantages of reading news are (1) you can actually take in information faster by reading than listening and (2) reading lets you set your own pace.
I like scrolling through tweets up to a point but end up wanting something meatier to sink my teeth into, like an extended article.
And I don't like podcasts. Podcasts only engage the auditory centers of my brain. The rest of my brain is being unused and getting impatient. I need to mend clothes or do something else with the rest of my brain to listen to podcasts. Whatever did people do back when the main form of news and entertainment was the radio?
